HAND SEWN SILK SHADING
Four afternoons 2.00 - 4.30pm July 20th & 22nd and 27th & 29th 2026. Cost £100 including most materials.
Sometimes called "thread painting", gentle hand stitching of leaves and flowers using long and short stitch.
Saturday 22nd August 10.00am - 4.00pm. Cost £100 including materials.
Making marks with fabric paint using stencils, brushes and more to create beautiful pieces of painted fabric to use as backgrounds in collages, embroideries etc.
CREATING TEXTURE
Saturday 12th September 2026 10.00am - 4.00pm. Cost £100 including materials.
Including experimenting with Tyvec and Lutrudor to produce interesting textures to stitch into or add to backgrounds, landscapes etc.
TUCKS, FOLDS AND GATHERS
Saturday 3rd October 2026 10.00am - 4.00pm. Cost £100 including materials.
Learn how to gather and create tucks and folds using your sewing machine. This will include using a double needle.
You will need to bring your own sewing machine.
FREE MACHINE STITCHING ON DISSOLVABLE FABRIC
Saturday November 28th 2026 10.00am - 4.00pm. Cost £100 including materials.
Use machine stitching and water soluble film to produce "lace effect" shapes e.g. stars, leaves, angel's wings. Sandwich and stitch snippets of cloth to create a new "fabric".

GET TO KNOW THE SET STITCHES ON YOUR SEWING MACHINE
Saturday 4th October
10.00am - 4.30pm £100
A day to get to know and experiment with the set stitches on your sewing machine then create an abstract ‘landscape’ with fabric strips and couched threads and machine cords.
This workshop is best for machines that have a variety of set stitches and is a good way to get to generally get to know your sewing machine.
You will need to bring your own sewing machine and bobbins but all materials will be provided.

HAND STITCHED CRAZY PATCHWORK
Saturday 1st November
10.00am - 4.30pm £100
Learn how to make a Crazy Patchwork panel - could be used as a block for a sampler patchwork quilt or cushion.
This will include learning several embroidery stitches to embellish the panel.
You will need a basic sewing kit but all materials will be provided.

FREE MOTION MACHINE EMBROIDERY
Saturday 6th December
10.00am - 4.30pm £100
Spend the day learning to use your sewing machine in a different way, practicing "drawing” and free machine embroidery. Use free motion machine stitching and appliqué to create abstract flowers.
You will need to bring your own sewing machine and a general sewing kit but all materials will be provided.
A SCROLL OF STITCHES
Friday October 31st 10.00am - 4.30pm
A day of gentle hand stitching, learning stitches and how to use them. All neatly stored in a fabric scroll.

A day learning to "draw" with your sewing machine. Lots of practice, tips and techniques using free motion machine stitching to create surface decoration on fabric. Get to know your sewing machine and how to use it in a different way.
You must be able to drop or cover the feed dogs on your sewing machine for this workshop.
Fabric Painting Workshop March 2019

PAINTING FABRIC BACKGROUNDS
Saturday 30th March 2019 10.00am - 4.00pm
£75 to include some materials. More fabrics will be available to purchase on the day.
Spend a day experimenting with fabric paint. Build up layers of paint using stencils, brushes and other mark making tools to create beautiful backgrounds on pieces of fabric to add to your stash to use for embroidery projects, collage etc
MACHINE STITCHING ON DISSOLVABLE FILM
Saturday 12th October 2019 10.00am - 4.00pm
£75 to including most materials
The day will cover several different ways to use water soluble film. Using machine stitching alone to create a "lace" effect shape or as a stabiliser to hold sheer fabrics, threads etc.
Lovely for leaves, flower petals, angels wings and stars for Christmas.
You must be able to drop or cover the feed dogs on your sewing machine. To get the most out of the day it will be an advantage if you are familiar with free machine stitching.
